Major-neurocognitive disorders can present a challenge to
clinicians both from a diagnostic point of view and in its
management. The many variations in its presentations and
also aetiology, necessitate a good understanding of
conditions that are less likely to be diagnosed.
While there are diagnostic criteria, many patients have
symptoms that are hard to categorize and Lewy Body and
Vascular Dementias can pose a particular challenge.
With our rapidly aging population, COVID and the rising
cost of investigations, there are key clinical symptoms of
which one needs to be aware. This course will cover issues
around accurate diagnosis of these two commonly
encountered clinical presentations of Dementias.
Our Faculties are:
Prof Ramalingam Chithiramohan, Consultant Psychiatrist and former Deputy Medical Director and Director of Governance and Service Effectiveness at the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (UK)
