Learning Objectives:
Discuss the oral antipsychotic drug selection in first-epi¬sode psychosis, and the importance of switching to long-acting antipsychotic formulation immediately after discharge
Discuss the drug selection for relapses in patients with recurrent psychotic episodes
Review the best options for adjunctive pharmacotherapy in psychosis with various comorbid conditions
Outline existing unmet needs in pharmacotherapy of schizophrenia and summarize drugs in development to address those needs
Summarize range of pharmacological approaches beyond dopamine D-2 blockade to treat schizophrenia.
